Patient Portal: Embryo Donation

Many couples who have successfully completed IVF treatment have frozen embryos in storage. They may have completed their family and have decided that they no longer wish to use these embryos. They may make a decision to donate their embryo(s) for use in the treatment of others.

Embryo donation is a wonderful gift because it allows couples who may require both sperm and egg donation in order to conceive, to have a family of their own. Embryos are usually donated anonymously.

Both donors and recipients are required to have counselling to ensure that all aspects of the donation process are fully considered and understood by both parties.

Waterstone Clinic is authorised to carry out embryo donation in Ireland by The Health Products Regulatory Authority.
