When did you join the Waterstone Team?
I joined the Waterstone Team in 2011.
Describe a Typical Day at Work:
My day starts early in the morning, the first thing I do is check for signs of fertilisation from eggs that have been collected, so that patients who are eagerly awaiting news can be contacted as soon as possible. After this, I spend my morning monitoring embryos and classifying them for selection and transfer, as well as assessing the viability of embryos for freezing and storage with the medical team. Afterwards, I contact patients with updates on the embryos and arrange follow-up appointments where necessary. The afternoon is usually spent doing freezing procedures and ICSI procedures. Sometimes I finish my day with meetings with the clinical team about specific cases and any updates within the lab.
Do you work in a Team or on your own?
I work in a great team of embryologists but I have daily contact with all of the excellent clinical staff here in Cork.
What are the Best Parts of Your Job?
